For established players, I’d say you should only buy this if you’re planning to introduce new players to the game or just want to grab some new decks at a low cost to play out of the box with your playgroup.Īnd if you’re searching for value, skip this one. Starter Commander definitely gets my recommendation as a good introductory product. Most cards in the decks are worth less than $3, and the most expensive card in the entire set is just over $10. On the flip side, this isn’t really the product for you if you’ve been playing for a while and are looking for some good value. Most of the commanders crack the top 500 most popular on EDHRec, meaning that these decks are good jumping-off points for players who want to continue their Magic journey. Even the Starter Commander deck with the lowest overall card value would cost double their price to put together with singles, so it’s definitely a good deal. I think Starter Commander is a great product to introduce players to Magic or Commander. That means the strategies are pretty straightforward and are easy to pick up even for new players. The other difference is that Wizards says they’re putting emphasis on “practical” cards for these precons. The commanders here also aren’t new cards but some existing legendary creatures. This was definitely a smart move on Wizards’ part because cards unique to a certain product can drive the price through the roof, like what Dockside Extortionist did with Commander 2019’s Mystic Intellect precon. The first is that there are no new cards introduced in this set. Starter Commander is a little different than typical Commander precons in a few ways. How Does Starter Commander Compare to Other Commander Products? They’re an easy entry point for new players, or a good way for existing players to introduce their friends and family to the game. Starter Commander is a set of five preconstructed Commander decks with a release date of December 2, 2022. I'm not beyond editing my save files to alleviate this issue, so if you know how to do that, I'm game.Curse of Disturbance | Illustration by Kieran Yanner Is there any other way to split up with my current wife in a less painful manner? Is there a point in the game where really expensive and worthwhile things show up and I should just manage until there? ![]() The same friend told me that I should use up as much of my gold as possible to minimize my loss, but I don't see anything sensible to buy with my ~200K gold. He also said that the only way to start over is to replace my wife, but that the "divorce" would cost half my current gold. Now from what I gathered from a good friend of mine who played quite a bit, children can actually give excellent bonuses so I'm just amazingly unlucky. ![]() That's when I decided to stop having children. This process repeated itself to produce an even worse offspring granting me +4 scrolls. So after a while I embraced a new virtual babe, which took up one of my wife's equipment slots and gave me space for 8 additional scrolls in my spellbook - rather useless. I was very surprised when she asked me to have a child, but since I did not want to upset her (luckily I don't apply this game-logic in the real world) I went along with it. ![]() I've been playing King's Bounty for a while now and have picked myself up a wife.
